Exploring Process Optimization

SixSigmaHello everyone,

One of my strongest motivations in life is constantly striving to simplify and organize, be it on the home front, in the work place, or wherever anyone asks for such help.

On joining Boardroom Metrics, I thought a perfect place to start would be to peel back the mystique surrounding Six Sigma, the defect measurement standard, coined by Bill Smith of Motorola in the mid-1980s.

My goal is to immediately inspire you to pick up at least one of the tools from the Six Sigma toolbox, to boost your organization’s operational performance. An added bonus is learning some Japanese terminology along the way.

We embark on our journey of Process Optimization by defining Six Sigma and its cycle of continuous improvement. We discover how CTQ (Critical to Quality ) and SIPOC (Suppliers -> Inputs -> Process -> Outputs-> Customers) tools can help you better define and deliver on your customers’ requirements.
